Well, it’s been a while, folks. I hit a few bumps in the health department—figuratively, not on the trails—but I’m back at it and ready to roll. There have been some significant changes to the stable, and a lot more is in the works. Let’s dive in.
RMX250: Back and Better
The RMX250 has returned from its extended vacation in Modesto. The rebuild took longer than expected—not entirely their fault. I wasn’t in a hurry to get it back, and honestly, I enjoyed the extra garage space. I’ve taken it out twice since its return, and it’s running better than ever. First- or second-kick starts? Check. Smooth idle? Check. But the squeaks on the trail? Not so much. Some lubrication therapy is on the agenda.
XR600R: The Glow-Up Continues
The old favorite is getting some overdue attention. The upgrades include:
- A new Trail Tech digital dash to replace the broken speedometer.
- Swapping back to the larger tank for better range.
- Fresh plastic and stickers to give it that showroom shine.
- Fixing a leaky petcock and a carburetor fuel overflow issue.
- Replacing some stubborn, broken bolts.
Deferred maintenance is getting checked off one bolt and gasket at a time.
WR250: Ready for the Streets
Big changes for the WR250—it’s getting a dual-sport lighting kit and being converted to street-legal status, thanks to the fine folks at Dirt Legal and the state of Montana. While we’re at it, I’m adding a rear fender rack for some extra utility.
The Husky Twins: Upgrades Galore
The Husky boys are in for some ECU upgrades, pipe end caps, and a few other enhancements to keep them performing like champs.
Goodbye, Nighthawk—Hello, KLX230S
The Nighthawk 750 has moved on to a new home, making room for a 2024 KLX230S—my daughter’s new ride. She’s thrilled, and I’m excited to see her tearing up the trails soon.
What’s Next for All-OffRoad?
Oh, there’s plenty in the pipeline! In addition to write-ups on all these updates, we’ve got a mountain of gear to review, including:
- Bar Bags, Fender Bags, and Fanny Pack Tool Bags
- Packable tools for trail repairs
- Dual-sport riding gear: pants, jackets, helmets, and even a new Cardo comms system
So buckle up, folks. There’s a lot coming your way, and I can’t wait to share it all. Stay tuned!
