BTO-Indy-FeatureIndianapolis, IN (Mar.2) – The BTO Sports-KTM-WPS race team headed to one of the most famous racing cities in the world, Indianapolis, IN for round nine of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship Series. Team riders Andrew Short and Matt Goerke came prepared to do battle Saturday night.

Andrew Short would get a handle on the tough Indianapolis track during practice, posting the 13th fastest time of the day. As the track started to deteriorate during the night, Short made the main through a strong 2nd place ride in his Semi race. With his Pirelli Scorpion MX tires grabbing traction out of the gate, Short would use a good start in the main to battle inside the top ten the whole race. He would put on a late race charge and by the checkered flag Short finished the night in 6th place, a season’s best thus far. With that, he is tied for 7th place in points going in to round 10 at Daytona.

Matt Goerke would have a tough night in Indianapolis. After posting the 15th fastest time during afternoon practice, Matt was looking strong on the technical track. It would prove not to be Matt’s night in Indy as he would get tangled up in a first turn crash during his heat race, coming from dead last to finish 10th. In his semi, Matt would make quick work at the start, charging from 10th to 4th place by lap two until being collected by a rider crashing in front of him in one of the rhythm sections. In the LCQ, he was almost collected in another first turn pile-up, as Ivan Tedesco would go down in front of Matt. He would miss a transfer spot to the main by one spot, as he would charge to a 5th place finish. Going in to round 9, Matt is 19th in points.
